Issue: Material does not meet substance requirements for classification 1.2.3

Materials classed as 1.2.3 Highly alloyed cast iron must contain two conditions:

  1. The material must contain at least 14% Iron (Fe, CAS # 7439-89-6).
  2. The material must contain at least 2% Carbon (CAS 7440-44-0).

The material does not meet one or both of the substance requirements for classification 1.2.3.

Action Required:

Review the material composition and classification and revise as necessary.
