Issue: Application 54 used and part is NOT marked as a Legacy Spare Part

  • Application Code Language in IMDS:
    • 8(b) – Lead in solders in electrical applications other than soldering on electronic circuit boards or on glass
  • ELV Annex II Language, Scope, and Expiry Date:
    • Lead in solders in electrical applications other than soldering on electronic circuit boards or on glass 
    • Vehicles type approved before 1 January 2011 and spare parts for these vehicles

Action Required:

This part is NOT marked as a Legacy Spare Part, therefore it is a new part.  Application Code 54 cannot be used for new parts.  Contact your customer to discuss a solution to this issue.

If this part is a Legacy Spare Part, check the Legacy Spare Part checkbox on the Recipient Data tab and resubmit the part.

If you incorrectly selected Application Code 54, then revise the part as appropriate and resubmit to your customer.

If there is no appropriate application code for the use of lead (Pb) in this part, contact your customer to discuss a solution to this issue.
